A field school taking place near Vancouver, in Western Canada. The focus of the archaeological project is centered around the excavation of an early 20th century Japanese camp in a now heavily forested area of the Seymour River Valley. The field school runs for seven weeks, from May 06 to June 20, 2013. Mondays through Thursdays are usually spent in the field. Fridays are at the Capilano University campus. Blog posts daily Monday to Friday.
About the Author
My name is Emma Kimm-Jones and I will be the official blogger for the 2013 Capilano University Archaeology Field School. I originally attended Capilano University back while it was still a college and studied business. I returned this year to pursue courses more closely related to my passion for psychology. I enrolled in the general studies degree program and had the opportunity to take an anthropology course with Bob as my instructor. I developed a strong interest archaeology and was accepted to the field school. I look forward to working in the field, learning more about the excavation process, and am excited to see what the next several weeks have in store.
