May 17 2013

As I mentioned yesterday, there is no lab class today as Bob is away. Some students have taken some  photos over the last two weeks and we thought it would be nice to share.

Please, stop asking me about Jurassic Park.

There must be some archaeology students at work nearby...

There have already been some wildlife sightings. So far we've seen deer, snakes and of course squirrels and a very large, very curious raven.

We've been cautioned to keep an eye on anything that sparkles, this guy is as eager as us when it comes to finding artifacts.

A young buck checking out the site.

The weather continues to be changeable. During our first week we were lucky to have gorgeous sunshine for five days, then starting this week the rain came. There were the thunder and lightning storms, hail, and all kinds of rain. It began to clear up yesterday, which I am sure helped students make the most of their day off. We are crossing our fingers for next week.

A nice view of the Seymour River on a sunnier day last week.

Remnants of a cedar plank road.
