May 20 2013

Today there was no field school as it is a holiday, Victoria Day, in Canada.

As I mentioned in Fridays blog post, Ananda was to be representing the Archaeology Field School at the"Wilderness at Your Doorstep" event in  Lynn Headwaters National Park this past Sunday.

Wilderness at Your Doorstep.

Ananda brought some treats for the guests in the park, and was happy to provide information about the field school. There were about a dozen exhibits set up, but our tent is never hard to find as we always have the biggest shelter. The rain held off, and the visitors were able to enjoy learning about the project. Our tent was definitely one of the more popular exhibits, although Tim Hortons may have won top spot with their enticing selection of coffee and doughnuts. People would often do a circuit and return to our tent for a second look.

Ananda did a great job interacting with the public and answering questions. We had tables set up with artifacts which always attract visitors and, allow people to feel connected to the project.
